Getting started

Do I need a paid Substack to use StackSweller?

No — StackSweller works with free and paid Substack publications. You just need an active Substack account.

Does StackSweller work with multiple Substack publications?

Currently, StackSweller connects to one Substack publication per account. Multi-publication support is on our roadmap.

Connection & publishing

My Substack connection keeps dropping. Why?

Session cookie authentication expires periodically. To fix this:

  1. Go to Settings → Substack
  2. Click Reconnect
  3. Re-enter your session cookie or re-authenticate via OAuth

For a more stable connection, use OAuth if your account supports it.

Why didn’t my scheduled note publish?

Possible reasons:

  • Expired Substack connection — check Settings → Substack for a red “Disconnected” badge
  • Note was deleted — if a scheduled note is deleted before its publish time, nothing goes out
  • Clock skew — if your device time is significantly off, it can affect scheduling

Failed notes show a red Failed badge in the Scheduled tab. You can retry publishing from there.

Can I publish notes to multiple publications?

Not currently. One StackSweller account = one Substack publication.

Can I edit a note after it’s been published?

StackSweller shows your published notes but doesn’t support editing after publishing. Go to substack.com to edit a published note.

AI generation

Will AI-generated content sound like me?

It depends on how you use it. Claude uses your audience description (set in Settings) to calibrate tone. The more detail you add there, and the more specific your prompts are, the closer the output is to your voice. Most users edit AI-generated notes before publishing.

Why is the AI generation button greyed out?

You’ve likely reached your monthly credit limit. Check Settings → Usage to see your balance. Credits reset on the 1st of each month, or you can upgrade your plan immediately.

Does StackSweller store my AI-generated content forever?

Yes — generated notes are saved as drafts until you delete them or publish them.

Scheduling

What timezone do scheduled times use?

Your configured timezone (Settings → General → Timezone). Make sure this is set correctly before scheduling notes.

Can I schedule long-form posts (not just notes)?

StackSweller manages scheduling for Substack Notes (short-form). Long-form posts are shown in the Posts section but are published directly on Substack, not through StackSweller’s scheduler.

What happens to my queue if I pause a slot?

Queued notes stay in the slot — they’re not deleted or rescheduled. When you unpause, the slot picks up where it left off.

Billing

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings → Billing and click Cancel subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period; you keep full access until then.

Will I lose my data if I cancel?

No. Your notes, slots, and settings are preserved. If you resubscribe, everything is still there.

I was charged but can’t access premium features. What should I do?

Email lakshmi@stacksweller.com with your account email and we’ll sort it out promptly.

Privacy & data

Does StackSweller read my Substack subscriber list?

No. StackSweller accesses only the content you create (notes, posts) and aggregated engagement data (likes, comments, restacks). We do not access subscriber emails or personal data.

How do I delete my account?

Email lakshmi@stacksweller.com with a deletion request. We’ll delete your account and all associated data within 7 business days.
