Top notes
The Top notes widget highlights your best-performing published notes based on engagement.
Engagement metrics
StackSweller tracks three engagement signals from Substack:
| Metric | What it means |
|---|---|
| Likes | Readers who tapped the heart button |
| Comments | Replies left on the note |
| Restacks | Readers who shared the note to their own subscribers |
Top notes are ranked by a combined engagement score (likes + comments + restacks).
How to use top notes
Look for patterns in your top performers:
- Topic β which subjects resonate most?
- Format β lists, stories, questions, contrarian takes?
- Length β short punchy notes vs. longer ones?
- Time of day β do morning or evening notes perform better?
Use these insights to brief your next AI-generated notes or to plan your content calendar.
