Usage limits
AI generation in StackSweller runs on a monthly credit system. Each plan includes a different allocation.
How credits work
- Each AI generation action (note, respin, batch generation) uses credits
- Credits reset on the 1st of each month
- Unused credits do not carry over
- You can monitor usage in Settings → Usage
Checking your balance
Your current usage is shown:
- In Settings → Usage (detailed view)
- In the AI generation panel (quick view before generating)
What uses credits

| Generate notes from post (per note) | 1 credit each |

💡 Tip
Running low on credits mid-month? Upgrade your plan in Settings → Billing — the new limit applies immediately.
If you run out of credits
You’ll see a “usage limit reached” message in the generation panel. Options:
- Wait for the monthly reset
- Upgrade to a higher plan
- Use the editor to write notes manually — there’s no limit on manual creation
